AS SEASON 2020 is about to commence, it is great to confirm that our key sponsors will continue this year. Returning sponsors include shirt sponsors,Zimple Digital, The Duke, the RTC Group, and of course,Concept Gym.

Joining and re-joining our sponsors group this year include Australian Bloodstock, Robinson Property, Maxim Financial Planning and HL Mullane Plumbers

.Our platinum sponsor group will this month enjoy meeting and mingling with Socceroo’s legend John Aloisi at a dinner at the Newcastle Yacht Club.

Bridgey has also returned for another year at theJ affas as one of Jimmy Pascoe’s assistant coaches with Shane Pryce.

The content and format of this year’s season launc will be different to the past.

This year will see the assembly of the entire Club at our home ground. Our young players will be presented with their playing shirts by our senior group of players. We will hear from our senior coaching group, and hopefully a representative from the Jets(schedules permitting). It will be a short & sharp welcome, followed by activities for each team as organised by coaches & managers.

Our football department has been busy in the off-season recruiting some well known and well credentialed talent.

Special welcomes are extended to Kale Bradbery, who returns to our Club after being an important part o four 2014 premiership team, former A-League star Matt Thompson, midfield maestro Mitch Oxborrow and the attacking weapon that is Scott Pettit.

A special welcome “home” is also extended to Jaffas junior, Riley “Ranga” McNaughton.

Sesho will again be our skipper, former Jets & Mariners“legend” Ben Kennedy will be our custodian, and Swanny is back as his deputy should injury necessitate. . . not a bad back-up!

Our core and loyal Jaffas first team group are all back, including our mates “Remo”, Tommy Waller, Will McFarlane, “Vezza”, Finn Parris, Andrew Pawiak, Bren Hammel & Micky Kanta! Strong on paper, however, fitness, form, resolve, courage, good football and a fair amount of luck is always required to convert the potential into results. It is all ahead of us!

Consistent with last season, family passes will be issuedto all registered Jaffas players to access home gameswith in the company of a registered player.

This year see’s the re-introduction of Reserve Grade(replacing the U20 format).

From the Jaffas perspective, this change is really only in name. Our squad has been strengthened with the return of Isaac Sefo, Bozza, AJ, Woodsa and others, all of whom will be pushing hard to learn, impress and strive for first team spots.

A big welcome is also extended to Jason Harrison, our U18’s squad coach. Jason has bolstered last year’s U18’s group with some great new recruits, all aspiring to be a part of the Jaffas Firsts.

The start to the 2020 season has kicked off, with official training for the Youth teams commencing on the 28th of January. As all of our SAP and Youth families will be aware, Richard Hartley has bee nappointed as Head of Football.

Richards strong focus will bo on enhancing our formal training structures designed to cultivate a “winning culture”.

The start of the pre-season brings with it training, trial games and uniform distribution. All of which can come with challenges, but as always, the Jaffas families have been considerate and understanding.

This year brings the new communication method of the‘Team App’ for individual teams which gives us real time communication with every team to make sure they are updated with all training and playing notifications.

2020 sees new coaching staff, with onl your U/16 coach remaining from 2019.Our Youth coaches for 2020 are:
